Today is the perfect day to be full term. At 37 weeks, labor will not be stopped and the baby can be born at any time without any adverse affects. Some people are superstitious about Friday the 13th, but 13 happens to be the Cobras' lucky number. Unlike the recent flurry of news about "lucky" babies born at 7 o'clock, 7lbs 7oz, on 7/7/07, a good 13 baby would be born 7/13/07 at 13:13 hours and weigh 7lbs 6oz (or any combination that added up to 13). How about on the 13th floor in room 13? I'm betting that won't make national news though. I'd have to be in labor now to make that happen and I'm not. Sigh, today would be a fantastic birthday for a Cobra, but please baby Cobra - don't wait till August 13th!
Today is my lucky day however, because it's my last day in the office. I'm packing up and heading home. Next week I will sleep in, take naps and run around in my pajamas. I still have work to finish up, but by next Friday every deliverable will be finished. I will just be overseeing projects and can comfortably hand over anything I'm working on. I wish I could look at it like a vacation, but I'm in constant nesting and preparation mode. I will likely fill my time with cooking, cleaning, planning and worrying about anything I might forget to take care of before we meet our son. I like to think that I keep things running and that it will all fall apart without me, so I'm trying to make sure bills are paid, plants will be watered, and supplies are handy at both work and home. Did I say I was gonna run around in my pajamas? Yeah, that's what I'm most looking forward to.
