I'm happy to be working at home. It's just getting too funny to get in and out of the car these days. If I had to be pregnant another month, I would definitely need some sort of catapult device to make it out of the car - especially with San Francisco hills. The short walk from bed to desk is much easier. Getting out of bed is actually harder than the car, but I'm a little too close to the wall to really consider any sort of catapult device there. Perhaps the bed could just lift up on one side so I could roll out like a cartoon character.
So the weekly antenatal appointment this morning was great. Our baby boy was active with a wonderfully varying heartbeat, good amount of amniotic fluid, and my blood pressure was normal. The best part is always the ultrasound. Today, he kind of looked like a tiny boxer with little fists up near his face "floating like a butterfly". He didn't punch luckily, but he has some moves down already. Mr. Cobra probably won't be joining us now on Monday mornings because I'm working at home and don't need the ride to work. There's only a couple left anyways (hopefully), so he won't be missing out too much.
We have a doctor's appointment on Thursday. I'm hoping to find out what's happening down below. I know things are changing. The baby is definitely engaging in my pelvis. My belly is significantly lower and the pressure is getting more intense causing the trademark waddle to become increasingly more and more like a penguin. Sometimes I have to pause if I'm up and walking about because it just feels like my insides are tearing slightly - paper cut by paper cut. I want to meet my boy, so I actually sometimes do squats to help it along. It's not really too uncomfortable. It's more like that feeling when you have a cut lip and you can't help but lick the wound constantly. In this case it will hopefully just get this little guy out a little bit faster. There's only 19 days till the big D-date.
