So few posts lately because I'm hella busy! Big deadline looming next week, so I hardly have time to do anything other than work. Speaking of work, here's to shameless self promotion. We just launched a new site for Spy Gear. They make some very cool spy toys for kids. I'm a little bummed that Dexter is about 5-7 years too young to enjoy them. He did like to watch the the remote controlled Spy Car though. I, of course, had even more fun showing it to him!
Dexter is being a little monster at night, so sleep deprivation is making life fun. I've never been so annoyed by Dexter. He wakes himself up constantly by rolling onto his belly. He won't sleep on his belly, it just wakes him up every time. It happens when we put him down to sleep. He'll just get to nodding off and then he'll fight it by either hitting himself in the head or rolling over. He likes to sleep on his side, so we have to physically restrain him from going onto his stomach. I'll stand by his crib for 5 minutes after he goes to sleep with my hand on his belly making sure he doesn't roll over. It's a real pain-in-the-ass phase he's going through. Once he's asleep, he's ok, but if he starts to wake up, onto his belly he goes! The process starts all over again. It's not that he's waking up THAT much at night, maybe 2-3 times, but it'll take 15 minutes to nurse and another 30-40 to get him back to sleep. By the time I finally get back to sleep, I have maybe another 2-3 hours before the next wake up call. I wonder if they make straight jackets for babies…
This is how crabby I am:
Telemarketer: Hi! This is ____ with ____ (insert annoying company here)___, I'd like to tell you about…
Mrs. Cobra: (interrupts) Sorry I don't have time right now, I'm putting my baby to bed.
Telemarketer: Well I won't take much of your time…
Mrs. Cobra: Do YOU have kids?
Telemarketer: No
Mrs. Cobra: Well that explains why you don't know how much of a pain in the ass it is.
Telemarketer: …okay we'll try another time…
Mrs. Cobra: Thanks, bye.
I didn't really find it funny until I told Mr. Cobra and he had tears in his eyes from laughing so hard.
