Yesterday, we took Dexter to the playground. First, we tried the swing. He didn't really react much to it. I think it made him sleepy, and he was too interested in watching all the other people around him. We then sat him in the sand. That got a reaction! He loved the sand. He kept trying to grab it and pick it up only to have all the sand fall out of his hand. He just went back for more again and again letting it pour out of his clenched little fist. Then he discovered that he could pat it and move it around by sliding his hand on top of it, so he played with it that way for a while. We buried his feet. He stared at his wiggling toe peeking through the sand for a bit before grabbing it like bird grabbing a worm. It's fun to watch him experience things like that for the first time. It's hit or miss, but when it's a hit, it feels really special.

And Then There Were Four… TEETH!
Well actually just three today, but the fourth should break through the skin today. I can see it clearly just under the skin. Poor little guy cutting his teeth in pairs, it's no wonder he keeps waking up at night. I'm hoping that the teeth was what was at least part of the reason for the lack of sleep. Last night, he slept okay. I didn't have to get up and roll him over ever 30 minutes. He woke up just 3 times. I'm hoping he stays on this schedule.
