This week flew by. I'm managing a project for our company and it has a quick turnaround with a hard set date. We have to build a site to be ready by the first day of SXSW. It's my first new project since Dex was born. I forgot what that kind of stress was like. I get a charge off of it, even though it's overwhelming at times. When I left, I maybe managed one or two people on any given project and now there are six people, all producing, that I have to contend with. Mike is taking on half of that and I'm taking on the other half, but still overseeing the whole project. I'm also the main client contact. It's gonna be a great Cobra site. We have two other sites launching in the next couple weeks as well.
This week was pretty work-centric for me. Luckily, Dexter was pretty good all week. I still had some good quality time with my little boy though. On Monday, we went to the Koret Chirdren's Quarter in Golden gate Park. Dexter and Henry played on the spongy-cork covered ground. They traded toys, played and watched all the other kids. There were a lot of youngsters running up to them saying "baby!". I don't even know what to say to a kid that can talk. I'll have to wait until Dex starts talking before I can comfortably converse with a toddler.
On Friday, we went to the parent's group. Mr. Cobra came along as well. Seven people showed up with their babies. Dexter seems to really like a 9 month old girl named Anna. They were screaming back and forth to each other across the table. It was so funny. Dexter was being his boisterous self, jumping on me and climbing all over the table. He was making a ton of noise. He was the only boy for quite some time before a couple boys finally showed up. Dexter is going to be a handful if he's this crazy already!
Today is my birthday. This year, I want to make up for last year when I was so sick from morning sickness that I couldn't even think about celebrating. I may still be in bed by 10pm, but I WILL eat some cake, drink some wine and buy something fabulous with my birthday money. I'm now officially a thirtysomething…
