Dexter got his one year exam today. The doctor was amazed at how active he was. Dexter was all over the exam room. He played with the doctor's chair, found a button to turn the light on the examination bed, played peekaboo under the counter, tried to open all of the locked cabinet doors, crawled all over mine and Lauren's laps and was just generally hard to keep happy in the small room for over 2 hours. He stole a paper from me while I was reading it and gave out the loudest scream because I took it back. It was a louder scream than he gave after the 2 shots!
He's a bit smaller than I thought he'd be. He is now in the 25th percentile for height and weight instead of 50th, but still right on the money for his growth rate. He's 29.5 inches tall and 21 lbs 1 oz. It cracks me up when people say he's BIG because he's actually on the smaller side with 75% of baby boys being bigger and taller. I can hardly find pants that will fit his waist because its so small. I have to buy the premium pants that have the adjustable waistband for the best fit. Most of the 12 month pants just fall right off of him. He makes up for his smaller size with his persona though. He's loud and boisterous and makes his presence known - a typical Leo!
