36 Weeks!

he baby should be around 6 lbs and about 19 inches long now. He is losing the fine hair and waxy white vernix that protects his skin in-utero. He ingests it and that's what helps make meconium - the first poop. Please pass the hairy mayo… Makes you hungry just thinking about it!

He is head down and should be moving into position. He's been moving down to "engage" in my pelvis because I feel the pressure, but he doesn't stay there. The contractions have started. I'm pretty sure that's what they are because I have had the Braxton Hicks contractions for several weeks where my belly gets really hard. I never feel those, I just touch my belly and it happens to be rock hard for a bit and then loosens. These new contractions feel like menstrual cramps. It hasn't been too bad yet, but they have been coming with more intensity and regularity over the past couple weeks. They don't have a pattern to them, so I'm not too worried about it. Next week I will be full term and he can come at any time.

I've been a bit more tired lately. We are still getting a ton done on our to-do list though. Yesterday we got our bank accounts finally switched to our new name. It's only been almost 9 months since we got married. (We conceived about a week after FINALLY tying the knot). We also got laundry and groceries done. Woo-hoo! That's a lot done on a weekday! We celebrated by not taking out the trash and going to bed early.
