This week has been graced with some wonderfully painful love bites. I'll be cuddling with Dexter and he decides that he likes mom's shoulder so much, he'd like to try and take a chunk of it with him. I have not one, but TWO serious bruises on my shoulder. I thought he drew blood at one point. It hurts a little bit emotionally too because he's being so cute and cuddly and then BAM! Total betrayal out of the blue. Little booger!
He's had a cold all week. His nose is running like a faucet in the mornings with two little yellow snot streams going into his mouth. It's disgusting, but only because I've become his favorite snot rag. I've had to change or wipe down my clothes before work several times this week. At night, I don't care, but I had a big meeting on Thursday. Luckily, I waited to change until just before going to work because he put the biggest yellow snot blobs right in the middle of my black shirt.
I have to say that the BEST thing invented for congested babies is VICS. They have a plugin that works wonders at night. It lasts for 8 hours, so when Dexter lays on his back at night, the vapors help keep him from coughing all night long. He still coughs some, but I accidentally forgot one night and he woke up 4 times! Otherwise, it hasn't been that bad at night considering how much snot is oozing out of him. I think it's kept me from getting too sick too becasue it cleared my sinuses up all night long.
Dexter finally got the mom and dad concept. He hasn't said momma since the Roseola setback when he first started talking. This week, he's been saying momma ALL the time. It's hard to say no when he calls me momma. He likes to say momma and give me a hug. He does the same to his dad. Sometimes, he runs between both of us pointing and saying the appropriate name. It's so cute!
