The Word "Cute" Doesn't Cut It

It's funny how Dexter can sense when I need to sleep, and that's when he decides to wake up at 5am to demonstrate his new clapping skills. I used to think - what is the big deal about a baby clapping? Now I know. It's the most adorable thing since his first smile or his first laugh. When he gets to going with his big smile hopping up and down on his butt and clapping it's so cute I can hardly smile big enough. My cheeks hurt from it.

This month has gone by so quickly. I've hardly taken any picts of him, but I do have some fun video. In just over a week, he'll be 10 months old. He'll be walking soon. I made the mistake of only letting him grab one finger to balance with as he walked across the room. Now that's all he grabs about half the time. He's been standing by himself, first by accident and now on purpose, for longer and longer periods. I'm sure there's a few more weeks of watching his butt crawl across the floor, but not too long.

At work, we have a crazy deadline looming which has had me going back to the office after Dexter goes to bed. I pulled my first all-nighter in quite some time. Our nanny is a life saver and is working Fridays, so that Mike and I can work uninterrupted. We hired Cobra #6. We may be making another offer for #7 shortly, which will complete our team. We'll be doing nearly everything in-house instead of outsourcing. It's a big jump for us. I hope the steady stream of work keeps coming…
