New Antics

Dexter can stand very well now. He can pull himself up to stand off of just about anything he can reach too. Recently, he learned how to climb up small steps. One of his current favorites is a little table that he got from his grandparents for Christmas that plays songs when he pushes the buttons. It has 5 different positions to grow with him as he gets older. Right now, it's set up so that it has a little seat for him to sit on while he bangs on the toys in front of him. It's kind of like a desk with toys on the table part. Well, now he uses the seat to stand on and tries to climb on top of the desk. The seat has to go.

He's become fascinated with Squee's food dishes. As soon as he discovered that one of them has water in it, he is constantly going after it. He splashes the water everywhere and picks it up and bangs it on the floor. I usually preempt his water attack by pouring out the water before he gets to it. He loves to play with them, though I think Squee is about to have a complete mental breakdown. Squee has someone to play endless tug of war with and Dexter tries hard to, but Squee still won't give Dexter the time of day - sibling rivalry…

Oh and Dexter now has 6 teeth. He has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. The new pair broke through the gums in the last couple of weeks. He wasn't too bad with teething this time. I knew they were about to come through when he started gnawing on things. He doesn't usually put anything in his mouth these days. To see him in a full on jaws attack of baby vs plastic toy was a dead giveaway that new teeth were imminent.

He's sleeping much better now. He's down to 2 naps most days. He even made it through a whole night without eating this last week! I just gave him the pacifier and he didn't wake up again until morning. I'm still co-sleeping though. He keeps waking me up when he crawls in his sleep. He crawls and hits his head on the headboard, but because he's asleep while doing it, he does it over and over again. He's either part woodpecker or a glutton for punishment. He's only waking to eat at most once every night to eat, but that's starting to fade as well.

There's so much happening that it's hard to keep track. He's slowly turning into a little boy rather than a baby. This is gonna be a wild ride!
