Mr. Cobra and I are going on a date tonight. We are going to go to one of our favorite restaurants, Moss Beach Distillery. Dexter is staying at home, so it will be our first "date" since he was born. Mr. Cobra is starting things off with a dozen long stemmed red roses were delivered to me this morning. I was still in my PJs, barefoot, hair uncombed, carrying Dexter in his pajamas to answer the door. (Kinda funny because I thought they'd buzzed the wrong apartment, so I was a little crabby.) He also called me Dee Ha and I couldn't figure out why until I saw the envelope. Mr. Cobra had put the 2 t's together so that it looked like it said DeE Ha. That tickles me - I'm still laughing about it.
One thing that is hard to do with Dexter is to take a shower. I'm celebrating V-Day by taking a nice shower and mowing the forest that has grown on my legs. Taking a shower is reasonable, doing any other upkeep is nearly impossible. Washing my hair didn't use to be a big deal, but now that extra 10 minutes can mean the difference between mellow and meltdown. The other 10 minutes to shave, yeah it just can't happen if Dexter is screaming. I'd probably skin myself in the process. He always has to see me now too which is proving to make it an interesting game. I play peekaboo the whole time, especially when he starts fussing. Some people sing in the shower… I do now too - Old MacDonald had a farm EIEEIOOO - you get the picture. I take that back, don't picture it, that's ok. It's just a P.I.T.A. sometimes. This morning was one of them, but I made it through clean and only a few drops of blood were shed in the process.
I can't wait to eat a nice dinner just me and Mr. Cobra. We occasionally get a quiet meal when Dexter is napping, but this will be different.
