Last week I took some fresh picts of my little man since he hasn't had many taken since my parents left last month. He's been getting some tummy time. Not much because he starts crying after a couple minutes, but he's okay as long as he can hold up his head. He can keep it up really well for the first few minutes and then it slowly goes lower and lower until he just gives up and starts crying. I wanted to get a good shot of him on his tummy, so I put him on his quilt and started taking some pictures. The little guy rolled all the way over for the first time while I was snapping away! I grabbed the video camera and put him on his tummy again to see if it was purely an accident. It wasn't! He kept pushing himself over. (see the video)
It's weird how little things like that are huge leaps in his development and they just come out of the blue. Just the other day, he grabbed a toy out of my hand for the first time while Mike and I were eating lunch. He laughed when I gave him a bath and poured water on his tummy. He's so much more fun to be around now!
He had a growth spurt this week. This has happened before, but now I know a little more about what to expect. He usually has a day or two where he just sleeps and sleeps and then he'll have a day where he'll nurse every hour an a half! That was yesterday. It was horrible because I was up a couple hours after Dex went to bed because Mr. Cobra and I were talking about our company and the recent chaos since our bread and butter client had to drop us thanks to funding issues. I got 3 hours of sleep! He wouldn't sleep unless I was either holding him or next to him. He nursed like there was no tomorrow and I could never sleep more than an hour at a time. I finally got caught up on sleep about 4pm yesterday. That was so rough. Thankfully he's back to normal today.
