A Mess

It's amazing how the time slips away some weeks. Dexter has been quite a mess because of his teeth. The first year molars are HUGE teeth! I think only one is completely done. Number 4 is working it's way through, and has been giving him all sorts of trouble. He's usually a very happy baby, but it's been challenging lately. His sleeping habits have reverted to waking up every 3-4 hours again. I'm so beat. All I can do is give him some Tylenol, make sure he's dressed warmly and cross my fingers. Last night was a full blown screaming fit for 2 hours. I'm sure our neighbors hate us. On top of that, he's been throwing tantrums left and right. Full on fall-on-the-floor-and-scream-fests. It'll be over soon enough, and hopefully that will be the last stint of teething for a while since he'll have all the teeth he's supposed to have until he's 2! I can't believe they all came at once - literally 8 teeth in just over a month.

The diet seems to be working - 8.5lbs so far in just over 2 weeks. We've upped our gym time to 1.5 hours twice every weekend and 20 minute lunchtime walks during the week. Mr. Cobra has less to lose and has me beat with 9lbs! Oh well, it's gonna be a long diet for me. My short term goal is to lose 15 by Christmas, er, let's say Thanksgiving now. I know it's faster at first, but I feel different already. Sadly, even if I hit my eventual goal of 40lbs - I'll still be overweight. Every little bit counts, so I'll take it as it comes. The diet isn't too hard to follow. I get hungry after working out, but I haven't cheated yet.

Work is about to get crazy. We're booked for the rest of the year and then some. Who knows what budgets will be like after the first of the year though. The economy gives me shivers. No bailout - sure that works until you want to get a loan and can't. Need a car, a house, college? You better have pristine credit to even be considered. Not that it's all bad. It's about time we go back to true credit standards instead of the free- for-all of the past few years. Responsibility lies on both sides of the fence for this mess. Perhaps the real estate correction WILL materialize? I dunno, but in our industry it can get pretty ugly when the times are lean. Is there a house in our future or will it be back to the lean and mean days we'd almost forgotten? Only time will tell…
