The Sleep Thief

Today has been one of the hardest days in a long time. Dex has been on the 3-4 hour sleep schedule all this week and it really is starting to wear on me. I'm not getting the stuff done I usually do and last night I was so very tired, but I couldn't sleep no matter how many sheep I counted. I tried taking naps today too and still no luck. I'm not sure what it is, but I can't sleep. Dexter is also very cranky. He seems to go through waves of teething. Today was probably the worst it's been so far. He woke up out of a deep sleep and just wailed. Neither of us could comfort him. I've been using Tylenol sparingly because I'm not so sure it's ok to use so often for an extended period of time for teething. I only use it if he's inconsolable. He was that way 4 times today. Poor guy. I wasn't absolutely sure that he was teething because it keeps coming and going in waves. I'm absolutely sure he was today. He was so upset that he couldn't even nurse. He'd nurse for a minute then pull off and cry. Poor sweetie. I hope those teeth come in soon. I'm not sure how long I can take these 4 nightly naps and manage a cranky baby all day.
