His growth spurt this week put him out of his 0-3 months clothes. They were starting to look like a second skin and showing his growing milk gut. A few items have maybe a week or two left in them. He also went up to size 2 diapers. We had just bought one more package of size 1 and a case of size 2 last weekend. Unfortunately, the best way to tell when diapers are getting too small is when they leak. If it was only pee, that'd be ok, but he puts so much effort behind his poop sometimes it shoots out the top of his diaper. Gross, but funny.
Speaking of diapers, I've given up on the "good for the environment" ones. It's so damn sad. I tried G Diapers which totally leaked every time I put them on. Then I tried Seventh Generation diapers which didn't leak as often, but still leaked enough for me to decide not to use them. I don't think they are still good for the environment if I have to use more diaper rash cream and do more laundry. So now I'm sticking with Pampers. I can count on one hand how many times they have leaked in the past 2 months and those were because he was moving up a size. I wish the big brands would just put a little effort into making their diapers at least chlorine free. I mean, who cares if a diaper is snow white? Brown diapers are more stylish anyhow. In my opinion, they just look healthier. I still do use Seventh Generation baby wipes. I probably use a bigger pile of those anyways with cleaning up spit-up off of me, Dex, the couch and the floor. I will not miss spit-up or burp cloths!
