The last post was way too long and I didn't even get it all in. I forgot a couple of things. One was the Leadville train ride. It was 2.5 hours long and had some beautiful sites. I think we were spoiled with the house we rented because it didn't seem like it was quite as pretty as the view we had there. Dexter liked the train. He napped for about half an hour in my arms at the very beginning of the ride. We had to take turns holding him because it was just too bumpy for him to try and walk around. That got a little tiring, but he was pretty good the whole way. My favorite memory was when Mr. Cobra was holding him in the first car, right behind the engine when the engineer sounded the whistle. It was loud! Dexter didn't like it being so loud and getting the crap scared out of him so he looked at his dad and hit him in the chest so that he'd stop making that noise. It was so cute to see him take it out on Mike - like he was saying "Dad, stop it!" It still makes me laugh.
He also found a hole in the bottom of the train car. It was just a place where a knot of wood had fallen out leaving a hole about the size of a half dollar. Once Dex found that he didn't quite know what to do. He looked down through it and then moved away. Then he'd move back to it and look and then move away again. It was a lot like the scene in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey when the prehistoric men found the monolith. Dexter eventually decided to stick his finger down the hole. He pulled it out and then spent the next 15 minutes fiddling with the hole and looking through it.
Another thing I left out is a very odd rock I found. As my parents were getting ready to leave, I let Dexter play in the gravel around the house. He was picking up stones and throwing them. I just had to make sure he didn't try to eat any. I looked down and all of a sudden I saw a rock that had a perfect 13 on it. It was so perfect, that I had to look closely at it to make sure it wasn't written. It was a naturally occurring phenomenon.
Most people may just be impressed. I'm dumbfounded. Thirteen is Mr. Cobra and mine's lucky number. I can't tell you how many times 13 has occurred. A few of them are that we got married after being together 13 years @ 13:00 o'clock, there are 13 letters in our company name - Cobra Creative, our home address adds up to 13, the first letter of Mr. Cobra's first name is the 13th letter, just name a few. It was the equivalent of finding a four leaf clover. It was very strange find indeed.
