Ten Months & Eight Teeth

Number eight finally broke through earlier this week. It's slicing right through and I can see more tooth every day. It's crazy how fast the bottom teeth become visible and look like regular teeth in no time. It seems like it's taken 2 months for his top middle ones to be as visible as the bottom ones.

Well, now he's a whole ten months old. Only a couple more months before he's a whole year old. He timed a good milestone to today – fishy face. That's where he sucks his cheeks in so far that his lips look like fish lips. I didn't capture that one on film yet. I can still one up Dexter though because I can move my lips up and down like a gulping fish too! Give him time…

We went to the beach at Crissy Fields. Dex had fun playing in the sand and attempting to eat rocks. He kept trying to stick them in his mouth. I grabbed probably 15 rocks away from him and he STILL managed to sneak one by me. I fished that one out after I noticed he wasn't going after them anymore. I'm surprised he didn't break a tooth! I gave him some snacks to eat and that stopped him from picking up rocks. I guess he was still hungry.

The first night in the co-sleeper was last night. He rolled around as usual and Mr. Cobra snored in my ear. I so badly would like to sleep all by myself for a night. I got less sleep than usual. Dexter, at one point sat straight up in the co-sleeper. He was totally asleep, so I laid him down and he didn't move. He crashed into the sides a few times and I had to pull his head away from the top 3 or 4 times. It didn't bug me nearly as much as when he was in the same bed. I was just nervous since it was his first time sleeping in it. It has shallow sides, but he's just been sitting up in it and not trying to stand at all.

I wish I could help him sleep more soundly, but I think it's just a developmental thing. He's been dropping the occasional morning nap or making it really short like 30 minutes or less. He's totally dropped the late afternoon nap for good and is awake from 2-8 everyday. He's on such a schedule that many times he fusses for his afternoon bottle within 5 minutes of 4:30. Perhaps he's going through a growth spurt. He drank 27 ounces of formula compared to his usual 18-20 and he ate like a horse today. Oh and we finally found his formula - Earth's Best Soy. He likes it and the diaper rashes have been disappearing. Yay!
