B2B - I've Become a Prude

Yesterday was the famous Bay to Breakers that crosses San Francisco in a drunken party disguised as a race. I've never participated, but living just a few blocks from Golden Gate Park, we've gone down to watch the spectacle a few times. It's fun to watch all the costumes and lack thereof. The general silliness is hilarious and we've always enjoyed it… until this year.

I'm not sure if it was just this year or perhaps it was our later than usual arrival time of 11:30 am, but I'm truthfully embarrassed by what I witnessed. The beautiful park had become a giant toilet. Every bush had someone in it urinating - men and women squatting in a drunken, disgusting disregard of sanitation. It was ridiculous. There were people so drunk that they were lying on the ground puking on the grass. I'm all for it B2B, but I only saw about 3 people who had the race banners on them, the rest had crashed the race as a roving kegger. People partying and dressing up has always made it fun to watch, but I'm really pissed at the blatant disregard for the park and private property. I'm sure anyone who lived a long the route is dealing with the smell of the "race" today. The park sure smelled like it was covered in beer piss. The city either needs to put out some port-a-pottys or crack down on the public urination. They can party all they want, be as crazy and as naked as they want, but holy crap find a TOILET to pee in. Side note to the people puking: If you're puking by noon and only halfway through the race, you need to re-evaluate your version of "fun".

Okay done with rant. Next year, I'm doing a potty cam…
