Woo-hoo Dexter just turned 7 months Friday! We celebrated his 7 month-day with a trip to the North Bay for lunch at
EO Trading and hanging out for the afternoon in the nice weather. He's giant compared to when he was just 3 days old. Things I expect to happen this month is his first word (mama?), crawling, pulling up on things to stand. He's already very close to doing (or already doing) all of these, so he'll probably get them all down pat this month. I'm sure he's doing a lot of new stuff, but it just doesn't seem to be as drastic of a change as it used to be. He's just a total wiggle worm now. He likes dancing by bouncing up and down while standing and he makes a lot of noise, though it is often syllables now instead of shrieks. The funniest new thing is that he tosses his head to the side when he gets upset. It's a preview, I'm sure, of what he'll pull during his terrible two tantrums, but Mike and I just giggle when he does it because he's so dramatic. We think he may have picked it up from Squee.
We just got our new dining room table. I had hoped that it would allow Dexter to sit at the table, but his highchair takes up the same amount of room as a small table by itself. It was a great freebie from some friends of ours, but it looks like we are gonna have to find something a bit smaller. I have never had to buy so much crap. It seems like he goes through everything in a matter of months. I'm glad a lot of it was hand-me-downs.
We had Henry and his parents over for brunch on Saturday since we had a table to sit at. It was a lot of fun to have them over. Dexter and Henry played. Henry got to experience his first dog, Squee. I'm not sure he liked Squee barking becasue he winced every time. Henry's used to his much quieter cats, but otherwise seemed fascinated by the wiggly dog. The babies let us sit down to eat and talk uninterrupted. That's awesome for TWO little guys to be so well behaved!
