I Have an 8 Year Old!

Squee turned 8 yesterday. We went to the park for a walk. Squee enjoyed himself quite a bit. He barked a lot and wore himself out. He rolled in the grass and peed on every tree, bush or plant that needed watering. When we got back, I gave him his new toy - a giant fuzzy black and purple tarantula toy. He got a few meat snacks too. He was so worn out from all the attention that he slept the rest of the day. It was a good day for my little fur-child!

It was also a great weekend for Dexter. The weather is so nice! Dexter had a lot of fun playing with the grass. He liked it so much, he stared at it longingly, the entire way home. I posted the pics from this excursion.

On Friday we met a bunch of other babies! We made it to the Cole Valley Parent's group. There were 7 babies from 4 months to 8 months old. Dexter was being very vocal and boisterous. He was grabbing everything off the table, trying to eat napkins, and slamming his toy on the table in-between making little baby roars. I met some other neighborhood moms. I thought it was really funny because all of us are so sleep deprived that we all kept asking each other their names. I remembered about half of them. Next time I'm taking name tags! I thought it was interesting because we're all career women. Some of us are going back to work, some are staying home - one went back and has decided to quit soon and stay home! It's nice to see that everyone else is having the same or similar experiences - up all night, babies rolling over, eating solids, working, etc. Dexter got to play with his friend, Henry, before getting tired and cranky. I had him in the Baby Bjorn and he fell asleep on the way home. Tomorrow, we are going over to Henry's house for our first play date. Henry is a couple weeks younger than Dex, but he's been going through a growth spurt. He's getting big and he's so cute!
