So I WILL post the holiday story - I promise, but too much has been going on this week. We have 10 days of unpacking to do + gifts, 10 days of mail to go through, laundry, getting groceries while Mr. Cobra is working like mad and Dexter is cranky with teething and I'm not getting any sleep again because he's waking up every 2-3 hours. Dex is also being clingy these days so I can't put him down without him getting upset. If I do put him down, I can't leave his sight or he'll fuss. Sound fun? It is oh so much fun in the Cobra Den. I did manage to post some pics from the holidays on Flickr though.
We also did get his 4 month shots (a month late) on Thursday. He did great and cried a bit, but not too much. He turned a little purple from gathering his breath to scream, but he remembered to scream pretty quickly this time. I didn't have to tell him to breathe. He received 5 shots and an oral vaccine. He impressed the doctors with his "airplane" when they put him on his tummy which is where only his tummy is touching and he has his arms up and out like wings and his legs are up. Then he did a full push-up. He also sat for a bit. He's a little ahead on his development, but I'm in no hurry to be chasing him down. He weighed 15 lbs 14.5 oz, still totally average size, and he's 25.5 inches long. I suppose "long" will become "tall" once he's walking…
Also we started solids! He's eating rice cereal mixed with breast milk. He seems to like it a lot and is actually easier for him to eat than to nurse because his teeth are bothering him so much. He opens his mouth big and takes it from the spoon like he's been eating from it since birth. The first couple of days I just did a tablespoon of cereal like the directions said, but he seemed to want more. Last night I made a couple tablespoons worth and he ate most of it before clamming up and getting bored. For kicks, I put tiny smidgen on the spoon and gave the spoon to him to feed himself. He almost made it to his mouth. I think he just wants to chew on the rubber tip of the spoon. For now it's just once a day and rice cereal only for the next month by doctors orders. I might sneak some banana in next week though.
