So I got to thinking that maybe the reason Dexter mysteriously stopped rolling over might be because of all the fun toys hanging over him, gave him no reason to move around. He could lounge around, very content on his back. I took down the canopy with all the dazzling dangling toys and within days he's rolling over from back to tummy again. He's even starting to pivot and do a giant circle on the mat while he's on his belly. He just moves from one toy to another. He's doing great at grabbing things, so I don't think I'll put up the canopy anytime soon. As a matter of fact, he sees me and he puts his hands out sometimes. I don't know if he wants me to pick him up or hand him something, but it's pretty damn cute either way. He'll be sitting in no time anyways. He's already sitting for a minute or so by himself. We'll need to childproof his play area soon. He's growing so fast. It seems like it was yesterday that I had to be careful of his floppy head - now he's going to be mobile!
He's sleeping much better at night, well at least the last couple of nights have been good, since his second tooth came in. Monday night he slept 7.5 hours straight and then another 4 hours straight. He must've been tired from keeping me up all night the night before. Last night wasn't bad either. He tried to wake up at 2:30 am, but he wasn't making too much noise, so I just let him fuss for a bit and he went back to sleep. He didn't wake up again until 4:30 am. I'm hoping he'll stop teething for a bit, so I can get my sanity back.
He's going to sleep on his own at night pretty well now. He barely fusses if at all. The only trouble I have is with naps because the room gets decent light and he seems to have trouble falling asleep when it's light out. His naps are almost exactly 1 hour long and he has 2-3 of them every day. The rest of the day I spend playing with him, going for a walk, housework, and a little bit of email/work. Today I'm wrapping gifts :)
We are getting a new office space. It's only a couple blocks from where we live. Mr. Cobra will be able to walk to work! I will be going back to the office as soon as it's ready. The landlord is putting in a new floor and drywalling over a door that's no longer in use. It's a little bigger than the one we are in now and has a nice conference room. It should serve us well as I never see us getting larger than 10 people. We'd rather be more exclusive than as big as possible. We like to do fewer high quality projects, not everything that's thrown our way. It's hard to do sometimes, but it's worked thus far. We have some really nice work in-house right now. I can't wait to see what next year brings.
