The bottom left front tooth has finally broken through the gum on the day he officially turned 4 months old. It's just barely a little white line of a tooth peeking through the gums, but it is razor sharp! I noticed it when I let him suck on my pinky today. He is enjoying his last days of mom's pinky pacifier. I think he could probably draw blood with it if he wanted to. I'm pretty sure the one next to it will be coming visibly through the gum any day now too. I think I felt it as well, but I'm not going to let his piranha mouth chew on me to find out. I'm not look forward to feeling any teeth when he's gulping like a milkaholic either.
I am happy that he finally has a tooth. It's kind of surreal that he just reached another milestone. It seems like there's always something new developing. He's growing a lot more hair too. He has this cute little puff of fine hair on the crown of his head. His hair lays in a perfect whirlpool pattern right there, so it just shoots straight up in a little burst of baby fuzz. It seems to be a bit blonder, but the longer hair in the back is a pretty strong shade of orange. I wonder what color it will end up as. I wonder what color his eyes will be too - blue or green? It's always a guessing game.
Mr. Cobra's band is playing tonight - well they've already played as I'm writing this before I go to bed. I still haven't seen them live. I went to his very first show last year, but I stood outside the bar and listened because I was 6 or 7 months pregnant at the time. The next show, I'm going to. Dex is old enough to leave with someone for a couple hours while I go watch my husband rock. I'm excited about it and they don't even have the next show lined up yet.
On the work side, as I haven't talked that much about it, our company is doing well. we're hiring an intern in January and looking for a developer to round out the team. Everyone is super busy with almost too much work to finish before the holidays and plenty for January as well. We are closing the company for the week between Christmas and New Years Day. It's not really a productive week anyways and we try to run our company the way we would've dreamed to have been employees of. It's been a very good year for the most part, even with me being out almost half the year. I hope that continues even though Mike and I don't get to actually design as much as we used to. It's tough starting a company doing what you love only to get so inundated with the day to day that you lose the job that got you started. Sure it's fun to direct seriously talented employees, but I still like to get my hands "dirty". I only designed ONE website, lusciousgarage.com last year. It came along between my months of morning sickness and the final "push" so to speak. I can't even take credit for all of it, as a large part of it was finished up by other designers. I'm still working on a major component of it - Hyspace - which is gonna be awesome, but it's not design. It's just calls and meetings and documentation and clicking and testing which I'm not so good at. I can't wait to get my hands dirty again. I have an opportunity coming up to design a homepage for a new client. Shall I do it? We'll see…
