This is certainly a breastfeeding mother's nightmare! I'm glad I'm not a vampire. Can you imagine those latch problems? I bet nipple decapitation is widespread and breast punctures is as common as stretchmarks. I can't imagine breastfeeding a vampire baby. Dex is close enough with his cute little widow's peak and vicious little gums.
This funny pacifier was the very first baby thing we bought. I was about 10 weeks along and we were in Las Vegas at a convention for a client last January. Fast forward 10 months later - Dexter HATES pacifiers, so I was lucky to even get this picture of him with it in his mouth. He barely had it in before he spit it out in total rejection. The only thing he likes to suck on that doesn't feed him, is his own hands or someone's finger. That's how I noticed the little bumps on his gums. I'm not sure how long it will take, but those little bumps are the beginnings of teeth.
I was an early teether and had teeth that just popped up at 4 months. As the story goes, my mom, who was even breastfeeding, didn't notice it until my great aunt saw them. The average age is 6-7 months for the first teeth with the bottom 2 coming in first, followed by the top 2. I'm glad breastfeeding is going a WHOLE lot better or I'd be really scared. It's not supposed to hurt, but babies often try out their new choppers on mommy. YAY! When does this kid stop hurting me? Never I suppose - by the time he stops with the physical abuse then I'll be pained with constant worry.
